Make the property accessible by vehicle while minimizing the impact to the environment and re-planting native species plants and trees that compliment the natural ecosystem . Thinning some of the secondary growth is hard work by hand, but provides an opportunity to discover natural features and make the best use of Finca Cielo Y Mar water, land and ecosystems. Incorporating Permaculture methods, re-planting fruits, vegetables and hardwood trees is geared toward a more natural ecosystem. A mixture of grasses and solar water pump sustain livestock and other local wildlife.
One of the First Projects was to construct two bridges and driveway from the main paved road up to the farm entrance. The driveway is about 1/2 mile uphill and took about one month to build and required more than 60 truck loads of Gravel and Rocks to complete.
Phase 2 was completed in April 2019. The last stretch to one of the most spectacular build sites. This site offers amazing views and is ready to build on. This project took about two weeks work with heavy equipment and 40 loads of Gravel.
Three separate corrals have been designated to growing native fruit and hardwood trees and vegetables. With the local knowledge of 'Lolo', the Farm Boss at Finca Cielo Y Mar, it has been growing Citrus, Mango, Avocado, Cashew, Cacao, Almond, Guava, Guyacán, Coconut Pipas, Water Apple, Níspero, plantains, Banana, Yuca, Ñame, Guaté, Peppers and Guandú.
A mixture of grasses and solar water pump sustain livestock and other local wildlife throughout both wet and dry season. There is also a corral for livestock and three mangas for rotation.
Finca Cielo Y Mar is an excellent property to develop off the grid with Solar Panels. However, conventional electric service is available and a meter (known as a Tapia) has been installed at the finca entrance.
With the improvements in Solar technology, comes the solar water pump. The new well was completed at the end of 2017 and drilled to a depth of 260' to ensure sufficient water year round. Powered by 6 - 255 watt solar panels, the pump sends water 600' up to a 400 gallon tank upon a hill where gravity sends it back down through over 3500' of PVC tubes to each of three nursery corals and Livestock watering stations.
